Clark Gensel Obituary

Clark Stephen Gensel, 68, of Hazle Township, passed away Monday, January 1,
2024. Born in Kingston on September 17, 1955, he was the son of the late Ronald
M. and Gladys (Sims) Gensel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death
by his wife Jeanne (Harris) Gensel, his brother Richard Gensel, his dog Precious,
and his favorite grand-dog Kapono the Standard Poodle from Hawaii.
Clark enjoyed fishing, browsing yard sales, and frequenting the local diners. He
liked old cars and was a NASCAR and Philadelphia Eagles fan. He also fell in love
with the state of Hawaii after several visits to his daughter and granddaughters on
Oahu and the Big Island. He loved his Aloha shirts and could be seen wearing
them year-round here in PA.
Clark leaves behind his daughter Tara Cortese and granddaughters Trinity and
Colby; son Adam Gensel and grandson Hunter; and daughter Tami Gensel and
grandchildren Hailey and Andrew.
He also leaves behind his longtime partner Dorothy Wils and her daughter Meggin
Caputo and grandchildren Samara and Kayne and great-grandson Lorenzo;
daughter Fran Finckenauer and grandchildren Dylan, Travis, Mateo, and Liliana;
and daughter Jennifer Lester and grandchildren Kayla and Jason.
Clark is also survived by his brother Ronnie and wife Diane (Hall) Gensel and many
friends, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He will also be greatly missed by his little dog, Abby, who was always right by his
side.
In abiding by Clark’s wishes, there will be no service. Arrangements are under the
direction of Joseph B. Conahan Funeral Home, 532 N. Vine St, Hazleton, PA 18201.
As they say in Hawaii, “A Hui Hou” … Until we meet again.
