Dennis Boyd Atherholt

Dennis Boyd Atherholt, 62, of Hazleton, passed away unexpectedly Monday, at Lehigh Valley
Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus, with his loving family by his side.

Born and raised in Hazleton, Dennis was the son of Carol (Zelenak) Brogan and the late Carl
Atherholt. He was a proud 1981 graduate of Hazleton High School.

For more than twenty years, Dennis was employed by D’Angelo Contracting Services, where he
served as a master mechanic for their truck fleet and equipment. He was highly skilled, dedicated
to his work, and respected by his coworkers.

Dennis was an avid football fan and could always be found cheering on his beloved Notre Dame
Fighting Irish and the Miami Dolphins. Fun-loving and outgoing, he enjoyed socializing with
coworkers and his wide circle of friends. Gathering at local establishments to watch sporting
events was one of his favorite pastimes, and Dennis was often the life of the party, living life to
the fullest.

Above all else, Dennis’s greatest joy was his family. He cherished being a father, grandfather,
son, and brother, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

In addition to his father, Carl Atherholt, Dennis was preceded in death by his infant brother, Carl
Atherholt Jr.; his sister, Katherine Pressler and grandparents Leroy and Katherine Donahue and
Joseph Zelenak.

He is survived by his loving mother, Carol Brogan; his devoted daughter, Casey Norton, and her
husband, John; and his cherished grandchildren, Gabriel and Graylynne Norton. He is also
survived by his brother, Daniel Brogan (Kelly Edwards); sisters, Linda Nause and her husband
George, Jody Newcomer, and Kim Taylor; and his nieces and nephews, Matthew Nause and wife
Melissa, Cory, Dylan and Jordan Brogan. Also surviving are his great-nephew and great-niece,
Blake and Olivia; his aunt, Terri Richie; his brother-in-law, Jay Pressler; and countless coworkers
and friends who will miss him dearly.

A viewing will be held Friday evening at the Joseph B. Conahan Funeral Home, Hazleton, from
4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m at the funeral home. Interment
will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
