pursuing higher education. He graduated from Kings College in 1960 with a Bachelor

Gene’s career in education spanned over three decades, beginning in 1960 in
Woodbridge NJ. However, his heart always remained in Pennsylvania where he spent

Council, where he was eventually honored as Director Emeritus. He also served many
years as a board member at Can-Do. Gene’s dedication to his community was
unwavering, as evidenced by his involvement to the United Way of Greater Hazleton,
the City of Hazleton Civil Service Board and the Quinn Foundation.

Having deep faith, he was a lifetime member of Annunciation Parish, Church of St.
Gabriel. He served on various committees in the parish.

Being an avid sports fan, he followed Hazleton and Pennsylvania sports, mostly
football, basketball, baseball and softball teams. He was a loyal Notre Dame and Penn State
football fan, cheering his team to victory.

he and Mary Beth shared treasured memories of raising their children. Gene
continued the tradition of family gatherings, especially on holidays. He found great joy
in spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandson.
