Glenwood (Glen) Noggle of Hazleton passed away unexpectedly at Lehigh Valley Hospital Hazleton Campus surrounded by his beloved wife and children.
Born and raised in Hazleton he was the son of the late Frank and Erma (Houser) Noggle and a lifetime resident of the area.
Glen was a 1960 graduate of Hazleton high school. Upon graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served for three years stationed in Stuttgart Germany.
After being honorably discharged he enrolled in the McCann School of Business. He then began a 38 year career in management at Barrett Haentjens Co. Following Barrett Haentjens he was employed at Michaels distribution center in inventory control until his retirement. Glen found fulfillment in work and reentered the workforce at Bergers Family Car Dealership in customer service.
Glen was a member of Annunciation Parish, Church of St. Gabriel and served as a Eucharistic minister. For 25 years he was actively involved in PAL as a basketball and swimming coach. He served on PAL board of directors as treasurer and was the lead fundraiser for PAL. Long after his own children's participation in the programs he continued with PAL because he deeply believed in positively influencing the lives of all the children involved.
Glen enjoyed woodworking projects, stamp collecting and was an avid reader of history and mysteries.
Family was the center of Glen's world. He was a kind and caring father who enjoyed taking his children bike riding, fishing and playing nightly board games. He always made time for his children.
When grandchildren entered his life, Glen embraced the roll of pop-pop with open arms. He would attend many cougar sporting events because his granddaughters were cheerleaders. He never missed an opportunity to watch them cheer. He attended every dance recital of his granddaughters and little
league games of his grandsons. Then there where the trips to New Hampshire to visit his daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren, and anyone on the ride with him would listen to his 50's music the entire ride.
Most important to Glen was the beautiful 60 years he shared with his wife Susan, it was the cornerstone of his life. They enjoyed each other and the life they created with their children and grandchildren. Their special retreat was relaxing on their patio with a fire and listening to 50's music. Their most enjoyable time was cruising in Glens Miata.
Glens joy for living will be fondly remembered and treasured by family and friends, his warm smile and zest for life will live in the hearts of all who loved
him.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three infant children, Jeff, Todd and LeAnn Noggle and the following brothers and sisters, Frank and James Noggle, Joyce Walp and Eileen Lawson.
Glen leaves behind his loving and devoted wife Susan (Quinn) Noggle. They shared 60 beautiful years of marriage.
