Joan Conway, 95, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, May 3, 2025, at Providence
Place Senior Living Community in Drums, where she had been a resident for the past four years.
Born and raised in Wilkes-Barre, Joan was the daughter of the late James and Mildred (Davis)
Mulhern. In 1958, she and her husband Neil relocated to the Hazleton Area with their sons,
where they built a loving home and raised their family.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Joan found joy in caring for her family and creating a
warm and welcoming household. In addition to her role within the family, she worked as a retail
clerk at Sharp’s Good Housekeeping in Hazleton before her retirement, where she was known for
her kind demeanor and strong work ethic.
Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Neil L. Conway, in March 2009; her son,
Neil L. Conway Jr., in September 2018; and her grandson, Justin Conway, in December 2019.
She is survived by her son Michael Conway and his wife Debra of Coopersburg, PA; her
daughter-in-law Sharon Conway of New Hampshire; and her cherished grandchildren: Katherine
and Charles Kotarski, Stacey Conway, Megan and Paul Bauducco, and Molly and Michael
Kemp. Joan was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She is lovingly remembered by extended family members Christopher and Sarah Katchur; Leslie
and Richard Gil; Leanne and Alexis Galatis and their families; as well as Barbara Conway and
Mary Conway.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are under the care of the Joseph B. Conahan Funeral Home, Inc., Hazleton.
