John W. Weber, 70 of Hazleton passed away unexpectedly at his home
early Wednesday morning.
Born and raised in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Susan
(Dandini) Weber.
John was a 1972 graduate of MMI and went on to receive a B.A. degree
from Penn State University in 1976.
Following graduation he moved to Florida and was employed at various
glass companies as a glazer.
In 1994 he returned to Hazleton and worked at M.E.K. Machine Shop in
Freeland until his retirement.
John was an avid outdoorsman. His passion was enjoying nature. Many of
his happiest memories were when he was camping with his son Justin at
Hickory Run. Justin was in grade school when they would leave every
weekend for the adventure.
Later in life, John spent countless hours hiking, mountain climbing,
swimming and kayaking ion New York. One of his favorite hiking spots was
at the Adirondack Mountains. There he enjoyed many new friendships and
became a member of the Adirondack Club.
Most recently John enjoyed the sport of disc golfing.
Preceding in death were his parents Joseph and Susan Weber. John
leaves behind his son and best friend, Justin Weber, Hazleton and his
brother Mark Weber and his partner Elizabeth VanBurkleo of New Orleans,
LA.
Services will be held at a later date, and will be published in the Standard
Speaker.
