Lois Paisley Obituary

Lois Paisley, 92, of Hazleton, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 21, 2025, at St. Luke Pavilion, Hazleton, surrounded by her loving family.

Born and raised in Hazleton, Lois was the daughter of the late Willard and Pearl (Wilkinson) Guscott. She was a proud graduate of Hazleton High School, Class of 1949. Following graduation, she worked at Tungsol and the Roselane Dress Factory before later becoming a clerk at the local IGA.

On October 2, 1954, Lois married the love of her life, Robert Paisley. Together, they shared 48 wonderful years of marriage, raising their children in a warm and nurturing home where they instilled the true meaning of family.

A woman of deep faith, Lois was a devoted member of St. John’s Primitive Methodist Church in Hazleton. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She found happiness in the simple moments of life, whether playing pinochle and other card games with family or offering treats to visitors. She became affectionately known as "the candy lady" during her years at St. Luke Pavilion, always bringing joy to those around her.

Lois’s love ran deep, and her memory will be forever inscribed in the hearts of all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Pearl Guscott, as well as her siblings, Donald Guscott, Jane Wersinger, and Sally Floyd.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted children, Frederick R. Paisley and wife Dianne, Thomas Paisley and wife Terri, and Tamra A. Giedosh and husband John. She is also survived by ten beloved grandchildren and fifteen treasured great-grandchildren.

A private viewing and graveside service with prayers of committal were held on Tuesday, officiated by Pastor Christine Kirchner at Mountain Grove Cemetery.

Honoring Lois as pallbearers were her grandsons: Thomas Paisley, Jr., Matthew Paisley, Mark Paisley, Jeff Paisley, Sean Giedosh, Christian Schegan, and Josh Schegan.
