Lucia Famalette

Lucia Famalette, 76, of Harrisburg passed away Monday, February 3, 2025, in the
UPMC Harrisburg Hospital.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on February 3, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Frank and
Dorothy Famalette. Lucia graduated from St. Gabriel’s High School in 1966. She also attended
Chamberlain School of Retailing in Boston, MA. Working with her family, she was a successful entrepreneur in the Hazleton fashion and garment industry, with stores such as LuMar and the
Little Shoppe, Apparel Distributors, and Hazleton Sweater Mills. Later in life Lucia worked for Luzerne County, retiring in 2016 and moving to Harrisburg to be near her family.

A loving mother and grandmother, Lucia is survived by her son, Jason D. Sharp and his
wife Heather (McVey) of Palmyra, PA; her sister Marcia Zensinger (Famalette) and her husband
David of Key West, FL; and her two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Ian Sharp. “Lue” will be
remembered for her extraordinary sense of style, many incredible lifelong friendships, an
infectious sense of humor and generosity of spirit. Her love of music and entertainment was
boundless, not surprising for someone who was always “the life of the party.”

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, February 10, at Queen of Heaven
Parish at Our Lady of Grace Church, 750 N. Vine St., Hazleton, PA, 18201 at 10:30 a.m.

A visitation will be held Sunday, February 9, at the Joseph B. Conahan Funeral Home, 532 N.
Vine St., Hazleton, PA, 18201, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lucia’s name to the American
Lung Association.
