Marian K. Harris of Hazleton, beloved wife mother and sister, passed away peacefully at her home
on Wednesday following a brief illness.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late John and Genevieve (Boos) McHale
Marian was a 1960 graduate of St. Gabriel High School. She then attended McCann School of
Business, completing her education in 1962.
After McCann’s she was accepted into the CIA and worked in Washington, D.C. for a short period
of time, then returned to Hazleton and worked in the banking industry.
In 1969, Marian married Ron Harris. They shared 53 wonderful years of marriage.
She left her career to be a homemaker and enjoy the simple pleasures of her life. She loved her
beautiful home and spent much of her time cooking and baking. Some of her delicious specialties
were blueberry pies, cheesecakes, and pumpkin loaves.
In addition to her husband and son, Marian cherished the time spent with her sister Rita and
other dear friends.
Marian will be dearly missed but will be remembered as soft-spoken, gentle, kind in heart and
spirit.
She was a member of the former Holy Trinity (German) Church and currently a member of
Annunciation Parish, Church of St. Gabriel.
Preceding in death were her parents John and Genevieve McHale.
Marian leaves behind her loving and devoted husband Ronald Harris and son Ronald G. Harris of
Seabreeze, Maryland.
Also her dear sister Rita Botley, Hazleton, her treasured nieces and nephew, Linda Mottran,
Marlene Tunnessen, Mark Bottley, and other nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00 AM at Annunciation Parish, Church
of St. Gabriel. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the church from 9 AM to 10 AM prior to the Mass.
Donations in memory of Marian may be made to the charity of choice.
