Marlene Reilly, 93, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026, with her devoted partner, Bob, by her side.

 Born on April 26 in Snyders, Pennsylvania, in the Snyders General Store, Marlene was raised at Knepper’s Inn, a family business in New Ringgold, Pennsylvania. Marlene was the Homecoming Queen of Tamaqua High School, and she lived her daily life like a homecoming queen. Nobody loved being around people more than Marlene.

Marlene was a woman of many interests and passions. Her career started as a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines in the early days of commercial aviation. She left to raise her family and devote her time to the United Way and other community organizations. Her next career began as a buyer and salesperson extraordinaire for 30 years at The Loft Ski and Snowboard Shop, a business owned by her son, John. Marlene had an uncanny eye for fashion and a genuine passion for her customers. Her impact can still be felt through the customers who continue to ask for her by name, many years after her retirement.

 Marlene had a genuine love for the outdoors and sports. Whether golfing at Valley Country Club or skiing in the Poconos, Marlene was always on the go—the more the merrier. She loved watching the Eagles and the Phillies with Bob, and boy, did she love dogs! Her energy was always contagious. She made strangers feel like family, and she was never the first to leave a party. Though she will be deeply missed, we take comfort in knowing her spirit will live on through her family and through God’s eternal peace and grace.

 She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Emmett Reilly, and is survived by her loving partner, Bob Swank; her three children, Chris Fraley of McLean, Virginia; Tim Reilly (Rene) of Kingston, Pennsylvania; and John Reilly (Nora) of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

 She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kaelin Hall (Will) of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; John Reilly of Brooklyn, New York; Logan Macgill (Doug) of Brookhaven, Georgia; Taylor Reilly of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Graham Fraley of Charleston, South Carolina; Jordan Reilly of Arlington, Virginia; Gannon Reilly of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania; and Carolyn Reilly of New York, New York. Great grandchildren: William Hall of Mt Pleasant, South Carolina; Reilly Macgill of Brookhaven, Georgia.  Also surviving is her sister Virginia Seniuk, Lansdale, PA
 

A funeral service will be held, Friday, June 26, at 11:00 AM at Christ Lutheran Church, Hazleton.  Rev. Dr. David W. Eisenhuth will preside.  A calling hour will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church, prior to the service.  Private burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Drums.
