Martha Ann Yurescko, 85 formerly of Beaver Brook, passed away Tuesday morning at The Manor
at the village of St. Luke where she had been a resident.
Born and raised in Beaver Brook, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Josephine
(Ferry) Grier. Martha grew up in a large loving family, having seventeen brothers and sisters.
They all shared a very close bond throughout their lives.
Martha was a graduate of Hazleton High School, and after graduation was employed at
Consolidated Cigar until 1979.
Being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she cherished the life she shared with her
husband George and their daughter Margaret and son-in-law Craig. Her eyes lit up when she
talked about her grandchildren, Nicole and Ryne.
Having lived her life in Beaver Brook, she enjoyed the special ties with family and friends and
spending time visiting in the neighborhood. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of berry picking,
canning, cooking and baking.
Most important to Martha was her faith. She was a member of Annunciation Parish Church of St.
Gabriel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George Yurescko, 2016, and
the following brothers and sisters Fern Grier, Walter Grier, John Grier, Jane Grier, Constance
Emerick, Marvin Grier, Charles Grier, William Grier, and also infant triplets.
Martha leaves behind her loving and devoted daughter Margaret Ann Wolfgang and husband
Craig, Beaver Brook and loving Nanna to her grandchildren, Nicole and Ryne Wolfgang, and the
following sisters and brothers, Josephine Goetsch, Hazle Village, Mac Grier, Hazleton, Margaret
Harris, Idaho, Ethel Gmitter, Kentucky, Tug Grier, Beaver Brook and numerous nephews and
nieces.
