Michael D. Potence, III, 55, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Saturday, February
14, 2026.
Born on December 15, 1970, he was the beloved son of Michael and Gloria (Dancho) Potence
and was raised in Drums. Michael was a 1989 graduate of Hazleton High School. Over the years,
he built a strong work ethic as an electrician and later worked as an associate at Walmart.
Michael will be remembered as a kind and caring gentleman who valued his family above all
else. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, son, and brother whose quiet strength and
generous spirit touched all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Michael and Gloria Potence, he is survived by his loving wife, Mary
Rose (Boyle) Potence; his two cherished daughters, Micala and Makenzie Potence; his brothers,
Dominic (Valorie) Potence and Keith Potence; and his nephews, Dominic and Antonio, and
niece, Gianna Potence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on February 28 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace
Parish, Church of Most Precious Blood, Hazleton. Family and friends are invited to call from
9:00 to 10:00 a.m. prior to the Mass. Interment will be held privately.
Arrangements are under the direction of Joseph B. Conahan Funeral Home.
