Patricia Bergamo Obituary

Patricia A. “Patsy” Bergamo passed away peacefully on Friday morning, October 10, 2025, at Lehigh
Valley Hospital, Hazleton Campus, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Marion (Verano) Martino. Patsy was
raised in a loving and nurturing family in Pardeesville and was a proud member of the Hazle
Township High School Class of 1954.

In 1958, Patsy married the love of her life, Karl Bergamo. Together, they shared 67 wonderful years
of marriage filled with love, laughter, travel, and cherished family beach trips. They raised four
children in Hazleton before later settling in Drums, where they enjoyed peaceful days at their farm
and many relaxing hours together on the front porch.

Patsy found her greatest joy in being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was her
heart, and the moments she shared with them were her most treasured blessings.\

A woman of deep faith, Patsy was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church. She belonged to the
former Holy Trinity German Catholic Church, Hazleton, and was currently a member of Good
Shepherd Church, Drums. She was active in the Women of Good Shepherd and the Good Shepherd
Breakfast Crew. In earlier years, she served as president of the Mothers Club at both Holy Trinity and
Bishop Hafey High Schools and volunteered for Easter Seals for many years.

Before retiring, Patsy worked as a receptionist for North East Counseling, and was also a partner at
Wedding Belles Bridal Shoppe.

Known for her warmth and generosity, Patsy delighted in baking and sharing her famous chocolate
chip cookies and blueberry pies with family and friends. Her love, kindness, and devotion will
forever be remembered by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Nicholas and Marion Martino, she was preceded in death by her sons,
Mark Bergamo and infant son Christopher, as well as five sisters: Mary, Dolores, Jeanne, Anna, and
Rose Marie.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Karl; her daughters, Karla Delahanty and
husband Tom of Drums, and Kristin Kovalick and husband Jeff, Drums, her son, Robert Bergamo
and wife Charlotte of Conway, SC; and daughter-in-law, Lorraine Bergamo of Brandywine Twp., PA.
She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Thomas Delahanty and wife Amanda, Vanessa
Petrole and husband Mike, Adam, Christopher, and Ryan Kovalick and Nicholas Bergamo, and
treasured great granddaughter Addison Delahanty, and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Church,
Drums. Prayers of committal will follow in Holy Trinity German Cemetery, Hazleton.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the church prior to the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Patsy’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
