Paul P Leonard

Paul P. Leonard, 86, a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather, passed away
peacefully on December 26, 2025, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born and raised in West Hazleton, Paul was the son of the late Albert and Anna (Neveras)
Leonard. He was a 1958 graduate of West Hazleton High School and proudly served his country
in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1962. Prior to his retirement, Paul worked as a plumber
with Plumbers and Pipefitters UA Local 524.

An avid outdoorsman, Paul found great joy in hunting and fly fishing. He was his grandson
Dominic’s biggest fan, rarely missing a baseball game, and he loved watching classic movies and
sharing conversations about history with his eldest grandson, Zachary. Paul especially treasured
time spent with his granddaughter Isabella—picking blueberries together and stopping,
sometimes twice a day, for ice cream at the local parlor where Bella worked. He also delighted in
his grand dogs, Cedric, Finn, Nikita, and Ellie.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his brothers Albert, Peter, Gene, Lee,
Noel, Art, Joseph, David, James, and Mark; and his sisters Alverna Edwards, Patricia Yacina,
Felicia Blair, Mary Luckanavage, and Judy Leonard.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Elaine (Sharkey) Leonard; his
daughters, Colleen and Debbie; sons-in-law, Joseph Marino and Ed Fuentes; his brother, Donald
Leonard; and his three cherished grandchildren, Zachary Leonard, Isabella Marino, and Dominic
Marino, who affectionately called him “Pop.”

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 2, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Pius of
Pietrelcina Parish, Transfiguration Church, West Hazleton. Family and friends are invited to
gather at the church from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the Mass. Interment will be private at St.
Ann’s Cemetery, Freeland.
