Raymond Perez Obituary

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved brother, uncle, cousin, and
friend, Raymond Perez, who passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2025, at the age of 52.
Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, Raymond was the cherished son of the late Joyce (Sharkey)
Perez. His family later relocated to Hazleton, where he spent his childhood in a warm and loving
home.

Despite facing many health challenges throughout his life, Ray never complained. He embraced
each day with a positive spirit and a full heart. His unwavering kindness, deep compassion, and
generous nature touched everyone he met. Always ready to lend a hand, Ray lived by the
principle of caring for others.

A passionate music lover, Ray attended over 500 concerts during his lifetime. He was a true
Deadhead, following the Grateful Dead to venues across the country. His love for travel took him
to many memorable places, with Las Vegas and cities in California among his favorites.

Ray brought immeasurable joy to his nieces and nephews, and he will always be remembered as
a fun, loving, and devoted uncle. The outpouring of love and support following his passing has
been a great comfort to his family and a testament to the deep impact he had on so many lives.
In addition to his mother, Joyce Perez, Ray was preceded in death by other cherished family
members. He is survived by his devoted siblings: Joyce Minzola of West Hazleton, Maria
Yenchick and her husband Daniel of Hazleton, and Dennis Perez of Hazleton.

He is also survived by his treasured nieces and nephews: Crystal Wilner and her husband Ryan,
and their son Nicholas; Kyle Minzola and his wife Danielle, and their son Brian; and Isabelle
Staton. He leaves behind many beloved cousins and countless friends whose lives he enriched
with his presence.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 12th at 1:00 PM at Joseph B. Conahan
