Richard A. Wersinger, 68, of Hazleton, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening at The
Manor at St. Luke Village, where he had been a guest for the past several weeks.
Born and raised in Hazleton, he was the son of the late John and Agnes (Mehalick) Wersinger
and was a lifelong resident of the area.
Rich was a 1975 graduate of Hazleton High School. Prior to retiring, he was employed for many
years on the production line at Quebecor Printing.
A quiet and kind-hearted man, Rich enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He loved traveling to
Ocean City, Maryland, and taking trips to Disney World. One of his favorite pastimes was
playing scratch-off lottery tickets. Throughout his life, he found great joy in the companionship
of his beloved dogs.
Preceding him in death were his parents, John and Agnes; a brother, John Wersinger; and his
cherished dogs, Aiko, Smidgen, and Harley.
Surviving are his son, Richard Wersinger, and his companion, Amanda Shiner, of Plains; his
brother, Jeff Wersinger, of Lattimer; and many lifelong friends, especially his dear friend, Kathy
Brill.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in Queen of Heaven
Parish at Our Lady of Grace Church, Hazleton. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery,
Drums.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Joseph B. Conahan Funeral Home, Hazleton.
