Rosanne Bonafair
August 21, 2023
Rosanne Bonafair of Hazleton, passed away peacefully Monday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus, surrounded by her loving family.
Born and raised in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Angeline (Andreuzzi) Marchetti. She was a 1958 graduate of Hazleton High School.
Prior to retiring she was employed as an executive secretary to the superintendents of the Hazleton Area School District.
Rosie was not only the greatest wife, mother and grandmother, she was a great friend to all who knew her, and all who knew her described her as a “firecracker.” Her quick wit and funny comments will be missed by all who love her.
She lived life to the fullest and traveled extensively with her husband Phil. They celebrated 60 “glorious” years of marriage and wouldn’t trade it for anything.
She always gave of herself and asked for nothing in return.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter Wendy Bonafair, her brother Roy Marchetti, sister Jacqueline (Sacco) Goehle and nephews Kyle Koslop and Scott Marchetti.
Rosie leaves behind her loving and devoted husband Philip Bonafair, and children, son Philip Bonafair, Jr., daughters Angela Bonafair Scalleat, Alexis Bonafair and fiancé Quinten Campbell, grandchildren who affectionately called her Gram, Samuel (Sammy J) Scalleat, Sarah Bonafair, Rachelle Bonafair, Sister-in-law Sheila Scalleat and numerous nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be held Friday evening at 6:30 PM at the Joseph B. Conahan funeral Home, Inc. 532 N. Vine St. Hazleton.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 4 PM to 6 PM at the funeral Home prior to the service.
Donations in memory of Rosie may be made to the Swing Club 432 E. 1st St. Hazleton, PA or YMPA 700 Seybert St (Rear) Hazleton, PA 18201
