Walter (Walt) Marsyada Obituary

Walter (Walt) Marsyada, 71, of Drums, PA passed away June 3, 2023 with his
loving wife by his side.
Born in West Hazleton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Agnes (Rusinko)
Marsyada. He was a 1969 graduate of West Hazleton High School. Walt served in
the US Navy. He retired from Garland Industries in Freeland, PA.
In May 1978, Walt married Catherine "Cathy" (Breslin) Marsyada. They shared 45
wonderful years of marriage together. He was an avid reader and fan of NASCAR.
In addition to his wife Cathy, surviving are his sister Shirley (Marsyada) Rushinski
and her husband, Joseph, Hazleton, and his nieces and nephews, Michael & Mark
Chincola and Katie & Paul Breslin.
The family would like to thank Dr Dan Benyo, Dr Michael Evans & his oncology
team, Leigh High Valley Hazleton 5th floor nurses & healthcare team, emergency
unit and the Gunderson unit and All Care Home Care for their compassionate care.
They would also like to thank Mountaintop Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center
for their excellent short-term care. The family is grateful to the friends and
relations for their concerns and prayers.
At Walt’s request, services will be private and interment will be at Saint Gabriel’s
cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hazleton Public Library.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Joseph B Conahan Funeral Home, 532
N Vine in Hazleton.
