William Aubrey Drumtra “Pappy”, 90 yrs old of Hazleton, passed away peacefully at St. Lukes Pavillion where he had resided for the past four years, surrounded by his loving family. Born September 04, 1934 in Freeland, he was the son of the late William A. Drumtra & Emma (Kelly) Drumtra.
He served in the Army Reserves from 1957-1961 where he was on active duty from 1957-1959. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Hazleton and Hazleton Azaela #687 Mason Lodge.
He was most recently employed at Boyers of Hazleton until he retired in 2019 and was in the grocery business throughout his whole life. His hobbies included playing trumpet in the Liberty Band, putting together model airplanes, building Christmas platforms yearly and talking to all his friends throughout his life in the Hazleton Area.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents was his wife, Marilynn J. Drumtra in 2021.
Surviving is a sister Malane Digon, Harrisburg; Brother Robert Drumtra, Florida; Son Scott Drumtra and his wife Tammy, Florida; Daughter Billynda Ulshafer, Drums, Grandchildren Travis Ulshafer, April Lombardo and her husband Grant. Greatgrandchildren Aria Ulshafer, Toby White & William Barkus and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held on December 14, 2024 at 11:00am at Christ Lutheran Church, Hazleton. Interment to follow at St. Johns Cemetery Drums, with military honors.
